Overview
Two Factor Authentication is an effective way to add an additional layer of security to your Bloom. Two Factor Authentication means that an additional piece of information needs to be confirmed in order to proceed with resetting a password. This can also be a good way of keeping a User in Bloom without needing to check emails to change passwords.
Adding Two Factor Authentication to your Bloom
- Go to the Settings page on the Bloom side menu, and click on the Authentication tab on the left hand side.
- Select ‘Yes’ underneath the ‘Should use two Factor password reset instead of email password reset?’ heading. Under this, you can select the field that the User must provide in order to reset their password. This can be their first name, last name, Username or something different!
- Once you’ve set this up, when a User tries to reset their password they will now be required to fill in the two Factor Authentication field correctly instead of receiving and opening the email link.
Tips and tricks
- The two Factor Authentication form field is case sensitive so ensure that when Users input into that field that the case matches the record on the database!
