Overview
Before we start, it’s a good idea to read the <Bloom Dashboard customisation guide> {link here} as we will be covering the specific case for making a Dashboard Group specific. Setting up a Group specific Dashboard can be a simple and powerful way to streamline Dashboard content for a particular Group of people. This can make it far easier for the learners to find the relevant and important content to them.
Setting up a Group specific Dashboard
- Click on the Groups link in the Bloom side menu and you’ll be taken to the Groups page.
- Once you have chosen the Group you wish to use a custom Dashboard, select ‘Edit Group’.
- Head to the bottom of the edit Group page, then select the ‘Should use custom Dashboard’ to ‘Use’. Then, as you would for any customisation of the Dashboard, simply put the Dashboard modules in the order you want. You can also change the Dashboard hero image for that Group for an extra personalised touch!
Tips and tricks
- Group specific Dashboards can be powerfully combined with Group specific branding, Group specific login screens and Group specific content. Individual Groups in an organisation can then have distinctly unique learning experiences, this can make a big difference in how they relate to the content.
- It’s good to remember that if you have two Groups setup with custom Dashboards and Users that are part of both of those Groups they will see the default Dashboard. You can customise this in the Dashboard tab in the Settings menu.
